We maintain a deep commitment to quality without sacrificing value. Our goal is to deliver high quality craftsmanship and use high quality products. Value is derived from acquiring the best products at the best price and using experienced craftsmanship and proven processes to reduce waste and build it right the first time.
We have worked with some of our subcontractors for over 18 years. We believe in using quality craftsmen and tradesmen on our homes. This may not be the cheapest way of building but we know that the final product will last a lifetime. We can't put a price on that.
We combine years of experience and historical perspective with forward thinking design, energy-efficient products and building practices to bring you custom, creative, and energy-efficient homes.
We are an Energy Star member and have incorporated Energy Star products into the homes we build. We have also incorporated other “green” building products, materials, and we are able to certify these processes.
At Grays Bay, we build relationships with our clients by showing our experience and expertise while allowing them to participate in the process. We offer them the opportunity to make their own design decisions and finish selections.
We also offer our clients the opportunity to be involved in the building process as much as they would like. For the clients that just want to sit back and watch, we have professional designers and craftsman to incorporate the clients' wishes to complete the home on time and on budget.
Owner Michael Leighton began in the construction industry over 25 ago. He started as a carpenter-helper and advanced to a carpenter foreman, eventually becoming a field superintendant for a large single family home builder. He soon realized he had better ideas and talent for building custom homes and began to form his own building business.
He was a principal owner from 1993-2004 of a local custom home building company, and is currently the president and CEO of Grays Bay Builders Inc, a company that has been building homes in Florida and Minnesota since 2003.
In his Building experiences, he was able to create a style and quality that developed into a well respected reputation with his clients, subcontractors and suppliers. With this, he developed production systems that stimulated the growth of his businesses and established a reputation as a quality driven and innovative home builder.
My complete home building experiences have allowed me to focus on a new chapter of custom home building. With this, a new philosophy of client-centered custom homes, with a deeper focus on quality craftsmanship, functional floor plans, and Energy Star® construction .
